The word “algorism” originally referred only to the rules of executing arithmetic by using Arabic numerals. Google's ranking mechanism (Page Rank) was granted on September 4, 2001 by the U.S. Patent that is evaluated differently by using algorithm. Page Rank, sometimes is shortened to PR, is a formula of algorithms. PR is used for assigning numerical weightings to web documents indexed by a search engine.
